Planting Onions 2-23-2011

by Farmer Dave
(Northern CA)

Planting onions at the Hyampom school gardens
is the main activity for this week. We have some Walla Walla onion starts which were grown in a flat and now are planted in the garden!

It was a productive day with lots of great garden bed forkers as we prepared 4 garden beds for our late winter early spring planting. So far we have one garlic bed and 1/2 onion bed planted and lots of young greens in the green house in flats and a greenhouse garden bed.

Plant what you grow, eat what you know

The Rose Family Victory Garden

I have been homesteading for the last 30 years creating a
“Permaculture Homestead”.

Living on a beautiful river we are growing about 80 % of our food in large organic gardens.

I had a dream, now I am living that dream.
